We encourage students to borrow alternative loans as a last resort only after exhausting their eligibility for the federal loan programs. As a courtesy, we are providing a historical list of the alternative loan lenders used by our students during the past three years. Lenders are updated annually. You will find information about interest rates, fees, repayment terms, and application instructions.
BYU does not endorse any specific lender, and neither the university nor its employees receive any benefits or remuneration from any lending organizations. You are free to borrow from any lender, not just the ones available on the historical list. Please be sure to compare the benefits and select the program that best fits your circumstances and borrowing needs. Information on FASTChoice is provided by the lender. BYU is not responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
Federal regulations now require lenders to send three disclosure notices to borrowers and co-signers to ensure they are properly informed regarding the terms and conditions of the loan. This process lengthens the time it takes from applying for a loan until the funds are received.
